SimpleMail — Privacy Policy

SimpleMail (“the App”) is an email client for macOS and iOS. We designed it to keep your data on your own devices and your own mail provider’s servers. This policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information.

Data We Collect

None. The developer does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no developer server. We have no access to your email, your account credentials, or your usage.

How the App Works

Direct connection. The App connects directly from your device to the email servers you configure (IMAP for receiving, SMTP for sending) over TLS-encrypted connections. Your email never passes through any server operated by the developer.
Credentials. Your account password (or app password) is stored only in the device’s secure Keychain. Account settings (server, port, email, signature) are stored locally on the device.
Message content & attachments. Fetched on demand from your mail server for display and stored only as needed on your device. Saving an attachment writes it where you choose.
Notifications. New-mail notifications are generated locally on your device. No push servers or device tokens are used by the developer.

Third Parties

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external services contacted are the email servers you configure.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL.
